  • Samung to Unveil Galaxy J7 and Galaxy J5 in India

    Samsung is all set to launch its two new smartphone, Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 in India today. J7 and J5 were introduced in China this year and went in sale in South Korea last week. As far as pricing is Concern Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) and Galaxy J7 (2016) will remain online exclusive and it will be available from 10 May in India. Galaxy J5('16) could be priced at Rs. 13.990 and Galaxy J7('16) could be priced around Rs. 15,990.

    Specification of Samsung Galaxy J5
    Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) features a 5.2-inch HD Super Amoled screen which have resolution of 720x1280 pixels. Samsung Galaxy J5 is powered by a quad-core processor which is clocked at 1.2GHz and have 2GB of RAM, for graphics, it comes with a Adreno 306 GPU . It have 16 GB of internal storage which can be expanded up-to 128 GB. J5 also features 3100mAh of battery. J5 weights around approx. 160grm.

    Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) features a 5.5 inch Full HD ( 720 × 1080 pixels) Super AMOLED Display. It is powered by a 1.6 GHz Octa core Exynos 7870 Processor with 2GB RAM. For graphics, it comes with a Mali GPU.The handset is backed by a 3300mAh battery. It measures 151.7x76x7.8mm and 169 grams. It's worth noting that the Galaxy J7 (2016) variant launched in South Korea came with slight difference in specifications.

    • The Samsung Galaxy J7 is powered by the 64bit capable Exynos 7870 chipset that houses 8 Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.6 Ghz each coupled with Mali T830 GPU and 2 GB RAM.
    • There's 16GB of internal storage available and it also has a micro sd slot for memory expansion.
    • The Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 houses a 13MP Rear Camera capable of capturing 1080p video and a 5MP front facing camera for selfies. Both have an aperture of F/1.9
    • There's also a front facing LED light included.
    • It still sports a 5.5" 720P super Amoled HD display but with a larger 3300 mAh user replaceable battery.
    • The Galaxy J7 2016 currently runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with Samsung's custom Touchwiz UI on top.
    The Galaxy J7 (2016) China variant featured a full-HD display and also came with 3GB of RAM. We will have to wait till Samsung India confirms the innards of the Galaxy J7 (2016) for the Indian market.

  • HONOR 5X "Mid-Ranged Budget Smartphone" Review

    Honor 5X may not be the flagship of Huawei but it has some promising features that satisfy the needs of people who are interested in mid-ranged smartphones with high performance.

    I'll be talking about things should know before buying honor 5x.

    Honor 5X is available for Rs12999 both on flipkart and amazon. Honor 5x is available in 3 different colors gold silver and grey. My personal choice is gold because it gives you more premium look as compared to other colors.

    Honor 5X Design 

    As you can see honor 5X has some very decent specs. Although snapdragon 616 is not superior then snapdragon 615 in terms of speed but the performance is better because the phone doesn't heats up easily. Built quality is better than any mid ranged smartphone that is available in the market. It has metallic back with non removable  battery. It impresses the moment you pick it up although it doesn't have the premium look but has the same polished bevelled edges leading into the frame as of the Honor 7.

    The power button and the volume rockers are beautifully placed on the right side of the smartphone. Honor 5x also weighs 158g which is less than you will expect from a 5.5 inch smartphone to be. On the left side we will find two slots one of them is a dual slim slot and the other one is the micro sd slot.

    The upper and the lower edges at the back of Honor 5x are made up of plastic to ensure that antennas can receive a clear signal and you may check our another article on honor 5x speed test comparison.

    Honor 5X Hardware And Software

    Honor 5x has a custom ui emui 3.1 which is not that impressive you can sense a little lag while using the smart phone although it has 2 gb of ram but almost 1gb of ram is consumed but custom rom and the ui . honor 5x is on android lollipop 5.1.1 and has been promised to be updated to android 6.0 marshmallow with emui 4.0 .

    My personal favorite is the stock rom that is provided by Google because you will rarely face a lag in  the ui. Another feature that is missing is USB otg connectivity we were not able to connect to otg. Even after trying through third party apps like es file explorer . Battery back up is very impressive the beast hold 3000mah of non removable battery but the performance of the battery is pretty impressive  if you are person who charges there phone once in a day this phone is a go for you.

    Honor 5X Screen
     
    Let us now talk about the display of the phone it has 5.5inch 1080p hd  ips  display with nice viewing angles. The display is sharp but the major problems in the display are they attract fingerprints on the screen.

    Honor 5x has pixel density of 401ppi.The film which come on the screen with phone can be removed, at the expense of scratch protection guard. Major drawback is the screen does not have gorilla or other reinforced glass. If you love to watch movies and videos on your smartphone it promises you a quality experience.

    Honor 5X Camera 

    Honor 5x has 13 megapixel rear camera and 5 megapixel front facing camera. Although front  facing and rear camera are impressive but I had a moderate experience with the rear camera in indoor and artificial lighting.



    However the camera clicks great pictures outdoors. It highly depends on the lighting if you want to take good pictures you have to make sure you have proper lighting for it. Some sample pictures took by the camera.

    The special feature

    The special feature that Honor 5X brings to you is the finger print scanner. Finger print scanner is located at the back side of the phone and it is also pretty accurate. It does not take long to setup the finger print scanner and it can also be configured of other settings like there are 7 actions that can be activated, ranging from answering calls or taking photos to opening the notification panel or recent apps:  just above everything is do-able.

    Unfortunately apple still provides the best finger print scanner in form of touch id but then what do you expect more from an mid ranged budget smartphone. Overall rating of the phone according to me is    8.5 out 10.

    Gaming review

    Honor 5X can handle heavy games like Asphalt , modern combat 5 , nova 3 real racing  and many other.

    I faced a little lag and frame skip but that is very rare. If you are person who likes to play games in the free time this smart phone is a go for you and the advantage is it doesn't heats up easily.
