  • Helical Insight : Worlds First Open Source BI Framework With Machine Learning

BI is one of the hot sector and worldwide is currently pegged at $16.5 Billion market and Indias market is $160 million. Helical Coverage currently have 3 leading open source BI tools in the market i.e. Jaspersoft, Pentaho and BIRT. Jaspersoft got acquired by TIBCO, Penthao by Hitachi and BIRT by Opentext within last 1-2 years.

Helical Insight is an Open source BI tool. This tool is having many unique features which no other tool is currently providing.

If we look at the BI evolution, earlier we had canned reports, then reports with input parameters, then dashboards and then in-memory BI tools. Next phase of BI will be integration of machine learning and artificial intelligence which will empower end users to type in their question and get instant business answers.

Helical Insight tool is able to provide the best of both world i.e. robustness of old BI tools with self service and backend driven reporting + machine learning module allowing business users to ask questions and get instantaneous business answers.

Apart from that, if you look at BI evolution not even a single BI tool survived the entire BI evolution because they were not developer friendly and were not able adapt to new technologies. Whereas Helical Insight comes with SOA architecture and is completely API driven.

This allows clients to add features and capabilities as and when they want with their own developers. Thus not only business users requirement are fulfilled but also entire solution stack can be upgraded as new technologies come into market without changing the entire stack.

Helical Insight is getting some really good feedback and business users are really excited about Instant BI. With it business users can just type in and get instantaneous data analysis.

Helical Coverage already have 6 paying customers. It was shortlisted for showcasing their product in TechInAsia conference Singapore and also shortlisted for Startup Grind.

  • Ringing Bells now set to deliver freedom 251 from July 6

Freedom 251 delivery will finally begin on July 7 and not June 30. The smartphone is the world's cheapest Android device.

The delivery of the world’s cheapest smartphone at Rs 251 (less than $4) will finally begin from July 6, and not June 30 as was announced earlier, its makers said on Wednesday, adding that they are trying to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi for garnering his support under the Make in India initiative.

According to Ringing Bells’ Founder and CEO Mohit Goel, they are ready with nearly two lakh ‘Freedom 251’ handsets.

“In the meanwhile, we have prepared a letter requesting a meeting with our Prime Minister to pitch our case as a domestic smartphone maker which wishes to contribute towards ‘Make in India’ initiative,” Goel told IANS.

“We are planning to organise a launch event in the capital on July 7, a day after starting the delivery,” Goel added.

In an earlier interview to IANS, Goel had announced June 30 the date for delivery, adding that once he is done with this first phase of delivery (of two lakh phones), he will open registration again for those who wish to buy the handset.
The company had in mid-February this year planned to deliver 25 lakh handsets before June 30. However, it received over seven crore registrations before its payment gateway crashed within three days.

“We learned from our mistakes and decided to go silent till we come out with the product. Now we have a 4-inch, dual-SIM phone ready for delivery. I feel vindicated,” he had told IANS.

According to Goel, he is facing a loss of Rs 140-Rs 150 per handset, for which parts were imported from Taiwan, but hopes to make profit on volumes.

“We will have a loss, but I am happy that the dream of connecting rural and poor Indians as part of the ‘Digital India’ and ‘Make in India’ initiatives has been fulfilled with ‘Freedom 251’,” Goel said.
The 3G device has a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory and supports external memory cards of up to 32GB. No device was, however, given to IANS. Only a photograph was allowed to be taken.

The company has offered an 8MP primary camera with flash, a 3.2MP front camera for selfie and a 1,800 mAh battery. It runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop).

The phone is available in two colours — black and white — with centrally aligned rear camera and branding on the back panel. It has a speaker just alongside the branding.

The device displays the Indian Tricolour when you switch it on. The company has incorporated all the basic Google apps in the handset.

“Our devices are completely ‘Make in India’ and were manufactured at our Haridwar-based manufacturing unit. We plan to sell two lakh devices every month,” he said.

The company is also planning to launch a 32-inch high-definition LED television — also called “Freedom” — in the first week of July.

“These will be the cheapest television sets in India and will be available for less than Rs 10,000. Within two days, the delivery would be made and we will sell them online,” Goel said, adding that the company currently has one lakh such pieces in stock.
In comparison, the cost of 32-inch HD LED TV sets normally begins from Rs 13,000

iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus Pictures Reveal Design Changes

The photos from noted tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer show the back and the bottom portion of the iPhone 7. The back reveals a bump in the camera casing, revealing that the camera shall continue to protrude, but will come with a protective ring surrounding it.

The photos also provide conflicting evidence for the inclusion of the 3.5mm audio jack, making the mystery murkier.he camera hole is also a bit larger than its predecessor, and is placed near to the edge of the smartphone hinting at some changes in the camera hardware. It is rumoured that the iPhone 7 will come with a larger CMOS sensor, and these changes are a result of that upgrade.

The photos also show the bottom of the device, revealing the absence of the 3.5mm audio jack. With more free space, there are two speaker grilles alongside the Lightning port. A separate iPhone 7 Plus image reveals the dual camera setup at the back, something that has been rumoured on several occasions previously. On the iPhone 7 Plus, both the rear cameras are aligned horizontally right next to each other followed by the flash sitting beside it.

The next iteration is expected to see minimal design changes with few but crucial upgrades. Apple is expected to unveil its upcoming offering in three variants - iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, and iPhone 7 Pro.

    • Ringing Bells Claims To Deliver Rs. 251 Smartphone From June 28

Ringing Bells, a Noida based little-known company, that ran into controversy after announcing Rs251 smartphone: Freedom251 has now announces that it will start deliveries of the handset to customers from June 28.

"Deliveries will start to customers who have registered for buying the phone, on the first come first serve basis on COD (cash-on-delivery)", company's Director Mohit Goel said.

Ringing Bells, a smartphone startup is said to be started in September,2015 and has gain popularity in February via its website. In February company has announced Rs 251 smartphone i.e. Freedom251.  But the launch of the smartphone, touted to be the world's cheapest, swirled into controversy, with some calling it a ponzy scheme.

During the 2 day sale, website of the company crashed due to huge response from prospective buyers. The company claimed that around 30,000 customers had booked the phone despite the glitch.

The company, however, withdrew the product and refunded the payments to customers following a close scrutiny by government agencies.

The company had said about 30,000 people paid for booking the phone and over 7 crore people registered for it.

Later, the company said that it would deliver the phone on cash-on-delivery mode to those who placed the order. Goel said that Ringing Bells has a foolproof plan to support the price but did not disclose it.

The phone was to be manufactured in Noida and Uttaranchal. "Two plants will be set up for Rs.250 crore each with a capacity of 5 lakh phones. The money will come in the form of debt and equity (1.5:1)," Mr Chaddha had said.

However, industry players had expressed doubt over the claim. Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad too had asked the Department of Electronics and IT to look into the matter.

The company had also come under the scanner of Excise and Income Tax Departments amid debate over the feasibility of a 3G-enabled handset for Rs 251.
    • ONEPLUS INTRODUCES THE ONEPLUS 3 – IT’S ABOUT TIME

ONEPLUS  INTRODUCES THE ONEPLUS 3 – IT’S ABOUT TIME

Dash Charge Technology, Industry-leading 6 GB RAM, Aluminum Unibody Design Bring a Better Mobile Experience

NEW DELHI – June 14, 2016 – OnePlus, a global mobile technology startup, today released the OnePlus 3, its long-awaited flagship smartphone. Combining the best in technology, design and innovation, this premium device further solidifies OnePlus’ mission to build a better smartphone experience.

The OnePlus 3 offers top-of-the-line performance and inspired design, while keeping the customer at the center. The new phone features Dash Charge fast charging technology, which adds a day of power in only half an hour. It comes with completely unlocked bootloader to give users maximum flexibility. It is also the first OnePlus smartphone to be available for purchase at launch on Amazon.in, OnePlus’ exclusive online partner in India, without an invite from day one.

“We know that the best smartphone is the one that works exactly how you want it to,” said OnePlus Founder and CEO Pete Lau. “The OnePlus 3 delivers that experience. It combines what our customers already love about our products with what they want and expect next. For example, Dash Charge sets a new standard for fast charging technology. It’s a flagship smartphone inspired by – and made for – our fans.”

Vikas Agarwal, General Manager at OnePlus India added, “India has always been a special market for us and we are thrilled to launch the OnePlus 3 for our Indian users simultaneously with the rest of the world. We are confident the phone will bode well with the expectations of the Indian fans, who will now have an easier time experiencing the OnePlus 3 since we have gone ‘invite free’. We are also introducing a line up of attractive accessories and exclusive partner offers to make the user experience even more enriching.”

Dash Charge – A Day’s Power in Half an Hour
The OnePlus 3 utilizes Dash Charge technology, a faster, cooler and safer way to charge a smartphone. Unlike other quick charging technologies, Dash Charge replenishes more than 60% of the 3,000 mAh battery in 30 minutes and continues fast charging even when streaming video or playing energy-intensive games. This is made possible by leveraging a large electric current for stable, consistent charging speeds. In addition, Dash Charge carries more current than other charging solutions, and at lower temperatures, by shifting the power management process from the phone itself to the Dash Charge adapter, so a vast majority of the heat generated while charging never reaches the device. Along with five custom safety measures in place to safeguard the adaptor, cable and phone itself, users can charge their OnePlus 3 as fast as possible without worry.

Smart Capture High-quality Photos and Easy Selfies
The 16 MP rear camera on the OnePlus 3 provides better imaging with incredible detail and clarity. OnePlus’ exclusive suite of imaging technologies, Smart Capture, allows users to effortlessly capture the ideal shot in any environment. Smart Capture functionalities include HD Mode, Auto HDR and Dynamic De-noise, which compares several frames of the same photo and blends them together in post-processing to reduce noise. The OnePlus 3 also includes our new Smile Capture feature, allowing you to take a photo using the front-facing 8 MP camera simply by smiling – a seamless solution for selfies.

Dual-stabilization technologies – Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) – help reduce blur, ensuring photos come out as planned. For the most discerning photography enthusiast, the robust manual mode offers the benefits of a DSLR, including support of RAW image files, in one lightweight device.

Premium Design – Elegantly Curved Aluminum Unibody
The design of the OnePlus 3 takes aesthetics, quality and usability to a new level. The all-metal unibody, carved from a single slab of space-grade aluminum alloy, makes for a seamless, resilient build, while the balance of soft curves against sharp lines creates a striking impression and comfortable grip. At 7.3 mm, the OnePlus 3 is one of the thinnest flagships ever. The stunning 5.5-inch 1080p Optic AMOLED display with one of the world’s thinnest bezels produces colors that are more vivid and true-to-life than ever before even in bright sunlight, thanks to a dual-polarizing layer.

Available in two color variants – Graphite and Soft Gold – the OnePlus 3 is an inspiring device to hold.

      Fast, Powerful, Customizable
The OnePlus 3 is designed to deliver maximum performance. Packing the new quad-core Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 820 processor (up to 2.2 GHz), the OnePlus 3 performs tasks 35% faster than the OnePlus 2 and features a 40% boost in graphical power – all at a fraction of the power consumption.

The device also sets a new standard in smartphone memory. The OnePlus 3 boasts 6 GB of LPDDR4 RAM, allowing for next-level multitasking without delay or lag and ensuring it can handle the most demanding apps. The OnePlus 3 also features an improved, more durable ceramic fingerprint sensor that improves accuracy with increased use. Offering the ability to unlock the device in under 0.3 seconds, even from a sleeping screen, users can access their phone faster and more accurately.

OnePlus’ custom operating system, OxygenOS, offers a fast, clean, customizable and bloat-free operating system based on Android Marshmallow. With off-screen gestures and customizable capacitive hardware and software buttons built in, the OnePlus 3 allows customers to personalize their smartphone experience.

The OnePlus 3 comes with dual nano SIM card support, allowing users to connect to different networks with ease. Our Indian fans will get complimentary subscription of 12 months of ad-free Saavn Pro. In addition to that, through OnePlus’ partnership with Idea Cellular our Indian fans will be able to enjoy ‘double data’ for 12 months. A third exciting offer awaits OnePlus fans wherein they will be able to avail 12 months of accidental damage coverage through the ‘OnePlus Care app’ powered by Servify.

OnePlus’ partners have come forth in wishing the OnePlus 3 success:

“Amazon.in has become the marketplace of choice for millions of customers who want to explore and buy a range of mobile devices across marquee brands. We are very happy to offer our customers across India an exclusive access to the new OnePlus 3 and provide them with a delightful shopping experience,” said Noor Patel, Director Category Management, Amazon India

“We are very excited to collaborate with OnePlus on their latest flagship device, the OnePlus 3, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor,” said Sunil Lalvani, Vice President and President, Qualcomm India. “The OnePlus 3 takes advantage of the heterogeneous computing capabilities that are inherent to Snapdragon 820, providing an all-around outstanding experience for users.”

Elaborating on partnering with OnePlus, Mahesh Narayanan, Global COO, Saavn, added, "This strategic partnership between OnePlus and Saavn offers an integrated experience that combines the best technology, music and original audio content for OnePlus 3 and Saavn Pro users in India. The OnePlus 3 is a beautifully-designed, premium smartphone that makes a perfect pair with Saavn Pro's ad-free, high-quality streaming experience. There is a large overlap between OnePlus users and Saavn listeners, and this association will help us engage with that audience in a meaningful way."

      Pricing & Availability
The Graphite variant of the OnePlus 3 will be available exclusively on Amazon.in, 12:30am onwards starting June 15 for INR 27,999/- whereas the Soft Gold variant will be launched in the near future. • India all set to predict monsoons with supercomputers

The Indian government is spending $60 million in the development of a supercomputer that will be able to predict monsoons which if successful will give ray of hope to dying farmers.
Weather forecast is basically an attempt to predict the next day's weather by analyzing data and other historical information. But, they are not always accurate.

In India this is not only a minor convenience for regular folk, but also is very crucial for the farmers whose fate depends upon a single word "MONSOON". Hence these supercomputers will be the key to helping Indian Agriculture Industry thrive.

It will bring an evolution. So far India has used the conventional method of studying the statistical and numerical data which unfortunately is unreliable. Past tells us its failures. Remember 2009 where it missed the country's biggest drought in 40 years. This supercomputer will be generating 3D weather models collected by planes, satellites and balloons.

It will be approximately 10 times faster than the current IBN supercomputer. Its potential to offer better forecasts will raise as much as 15% of the farm output. M. Rajeevan, the top-notch scientist in the ministry of earth sciences believes, "If everything goes well by 2017 we'll make this dynamical model operational by replacing the statistical model."

    • LeEco Le Max 2 : Initial Impressions (Video)

Le Max2 is a phone that really can caught your eye in seconds, not only Le Max2 is great phone for the price, but it brings specs and performance comparable to the latest-and-greatest Android flagships from Samsung, LG, and others.

      Le Max 2 : Review
      Overview of Le Max 2
The phone runs on the Android operating system, which is currently the most popular platform on the market. The Le Max 2 comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow which is the newest Android version available. EUI 5.6, by LeEco, runs on top of Android on this device, offering a customized experience.

      Le Max 2 : Custom Skin 5.6
Le Max2 inexplicably forgoes a 3.5mm headphone jack despite having plenty of room for one. This is clearly an attempt to beat Apple to the punch, but I just can’t see how the target audience of LeEco’s newest phones would be happy with this move. LeEco says the phones have the “world’s first Type-C audio connector” but, as I mentioned before, beating Apple isn’t very beneficial if your audience isn’t going to appreciate the move.

      Specifications of Le Max 2

      Design
While using, the first glance of Le Max 2 for us was unexplainable. Seriously, a premium unibody metal built using aluminum perfectly packed in the stunning package. Only two thin edges above and below on the back are made of plastic in order to ensure good reception. But, they are appealing and hardly distinguishable from the metal. Moreover, the metal frame is sanded on the edges further explicating its beauty. Sadly, the back can not be opened, thus making the battery non-removable.

      Le Lax 2 : Bottom
At the bottom of Le Max 2 there are speakers along with USB type C connector. While at right side there are power buttons that are located just below volume control button.

Asus Zenfone Max 2016 :Final Review Video

The smartphone offers a more powerful processor and comes in two memory variants with a 3GB RAM and a 2GB RAM priced at Rs 12,999 and Rs 9,999 respectively. The new ZenFone Max variants run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and has a built in memory of 32 GB.

The biggest plus point of the phone is its powerful 5000 mAh battery. The smartphone easily gives a battery backup of 2 to 3 days, depending upon the usage. A power saver mode has been installed in the phone, (which is common feature in most high-end smartphones) to adjust processor performance, screen brightness and restricts access to features that use up more battery.

      Camera Quality

Zenfone Max comes with 13 Mega Pixel Laser Auto Focus camera with Dual color tone LED flash[Which helps to capture natural images in Flash]. With the combination of laser auto-focus a and Pixel Master technology, the primary camera can capture decent images indoor lighting condition but in outdoor lighting condition images are over exposure. The 5 MP front facing camera capable of capturing good selfies with beautification and HDR modes. Although this device has combinations of laser auto focus and 13 sensor, it doesn't make great camera but it can capture decent images.

      Battery Life
This handset comes with 5000 mAh capacity battery which is not user replaceable battery. With regular usage it should easily make it through a couple of days before having charger. But, without fast charging support the 5000 mAh battery needs 4 hours to fully charging.

    • Get Protected From Cyber Attack

“Be careful of saying, ‘we’ve got the best security in the world’. Doing so would be seen by hackers as a challenge.”
                           Mr. Allan

After almost four years of debate, the European Union passed the General Data Protection Regulation, with the objective to strengthen and unify data protection for individuals within the EU and deal with exporting personal data outside the region.

But what difference - if any - will it make specifically in India?

"It's tough, as there is no holistic legal framework/regulator in the form of data protection authority, data quality and proportionality, data transparency, etc.., which addresses and covers data protection issues in accordance with the principles of the EU Directive, OECD Guidelines or Safe Harbor Principles," says Krishnan , chief risk officer, Reliance Life Insurance Company Ltd.

“Research Company Gartner predicts there will be 6.8 billion connected devices in use in 2016, a 30 percent increase over 2015. By 2020, that number will jump to more than 20 billion connected devices, predicts Gartner. Put another way, for every human being on the planet, there will be between two and three connected devices.”

Responding forcefully to attempted security breaches is often very difficult for a variety of reasons:
      ¡  Identifying attackers is difficult
¡  The sheer number of attempted attacks is so large that organisations cannot spend time pursuing each attacker
¡  Law enforcement officers are often unfamiliar with information technology, and so lack the skills and interest in pursuing attackers.
      ¡  Budgetary constraints

      National Cyber Security Policy
A policy framework by Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY).
¡        Aims at protecting the public and private infrastructure from cyber attacks.
Intends to safeguard "information, such as personal information (of web users), financial and banking information and sovereign data".

Krishnan suggests that the government appoint a regulatory body to govern data confidentiality across public, private and individual parties.
A fine balance between what the consumer wants and what the country needs is most essential, as it would ensure the policy framework is transparent and guidelines are followed.

Henceforth, "No new regulation is required for India regarding data protection or data breach disclosure," he says. "The government needs only revisit its existing IT Act 2008 and impress data protection obligations upon Indian companies and find a way to help them adhere to them."
