  • India have slowest Internet Speed in Asia : Reports

In a shocking news, South Korea had the highest average connection speed in Asia-Pacific at 26.7 Mbps, while India had the lowest at 2.8 Mbps. Such news for India is very disheartening especially for PM Modi’s Digital India campaign.

The average page load time for a broadband connection in India was found to be 3.9 seconds and for mobile 6.India had the slowest average connection speed in the Asia region in the last quarter of 2015, at 2.8 megabits per second, according to Akamai's State of the Internet report.

According to the report, the global average connection speed rose 8.6% to 5.6 Mbps from the third quarter, and rose 23% on a year-on-year basis. The global average peak connection speed rose 1% from the third quarter,32.5 Mbps. In Asia Pacific, South Korea had the highest average connection speed in at 26.7 Mbps, while India had the lowest at 2.8 Mbps.

Similarly, Singapore held the top spot for average peak connection speed at 135.7 Mbps, while India had the lowest average peak connection speed at 21.2 Mbps. The average page load time for a broadband connection in India was found to be 3.9 seconds and for mobile 6.9 seconds, the report found. Average page load time is the average time it takes a web page to load, from the time a user clicks a link to the page and for it to completely load in the browser.

India has been among the countries with the slowest Internet connection speeds in the past according to Akamai's report. In Q4 of 2015 also, it stood at 115th position in terms of average connection speed.
  • Apple might launch 4-Inch iPhone Again. Release Date Set Mid 2016.

Is Apple working on a four-inch iPhone again? Recent reports revealed that it may come out next year.

GForGames cited Kevin Wang, the IHS Technology Research Director in China, who revealed that an iPhone 6C which will sport a 4-inch display will be released in 2016. Wang previously shared that the 4-inch iPhone would be available this 2015 but recently changed it to a mid-2016 launch.

    Apple

According to the report, this rumored release date detail about the 4-inch iPhone, which is expected to be the iPhone 6C, supports the information shared by Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst from KGI Securities.

Apart from the screen size, Kevin Wang did not offer any other details about Apple's new 4-inch iPhone aside but Kuo shared that this purported iOS handset will "resemble an upgraded iPhone 5s."

For those who already forgot about the iPhone 5S, the iOS smartphone was released in September 2013. It also comes with a 4-inch screen with a screen resolution of 640 x 1136 p and a pixel density of 326 ppi.

Out of the box, the iPhone 5S comes pre-installed with iOS 7. However, it is currently upgradable to iOS 9.1

Under the hood, it sports an Apple A7 chipset paired with a dual-core processor with a clock speed of 1.3 GHz. For the GPU, the phone boasts of PowerVR G6430.

As for the iPhone 6C's possible specs, Kuo mentioned that it may include a metal design and will sport an A9 processor.

"In order to make the current iOS 9 or next-generation iOS 10 run smoothly, Apple may adopt an A9 chip for this new phone," Kuo shared, as posted on MacRumors.

Moreover, Kuo believed that the rumored 4-inch iPhone 6C" will not have a 3D Touch feature, differentiating if from the current flagship devices of the Cupertino-based tech giant, the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus.

As for other production details available, the rumored Apple 4-inch iPhone launching this 2016 is expected to be manufactured by Foxconn. And it is projected that there will be 20 to 30 million shipments until the end of 2016.

However, since these latest details all remain to be rumors until the iPhone maker made an official announcement about it, Apple fans are expected to take all the emerging reports with a grain of salt.
Make sure to check back on this site for updates about the rumored Apple 4-inch iPhone, possibly the iPhone 6C.
  • Slowest Growth in 6 Years For Smartphones

Smartphone sales are really slowing down and last quarter's growth should be the slowest in about six years, according to new analytics reports.

This past quarter could be the worst for smartphone sales since the 2009 recession, Tech Radar reports. A report from Strategy Analytics says that worldwide smartphone shipments grew just 10 percent since last year.

    Smartphoe

The third quarter of 2015 saw about 354 million smartphones being shipped. The low number can be pointed at more availability of smartphones in the U.S., Europe and China. It means that most people in these countries already have a smartphone.

Most people that have a smartphone already typically do not buy a new one every year and that could contribute to the slowing growth of sales.

Samsung finally received some good news when it saw its smartphone shipments grow by over six percent for the third quarter, which is the first time that Samsung has returned to positive growth for smartphone sales in over a year. For the year, Samsung shipped about 83.8 million smartphones compared to last year's number of 79.2 million.

Samsung can credit recent price cuts on the Samsung Galaxy S6 and mid-range devices for developing countries for their increased sales, Engadget reports.

Samsung is still controlling smartphone marketshare with 23.7 percent. For the third quarter of 2014, Samsung controlled 24.5 percent of the market.

Apple is controlling 13.6 percent of the smartphone market, an increase from the 12.2 percent of the market they controlled in the third quarter of 2014. Apple shipped 48 million units of smartphones this year, compared to 39.3 million last year.

Apple reported its earnings on Tuesday and investors were focused on learning how many iPhones the company sold in the past year. When it met analysts estimates for iPhone sales, the company also had excellent earnings per share and revenue reports.
  • Flipkart's CEO will deliver your smartphones ??

On Friday, Flipkart CEO Sachin Bansal decided to get out of his comfortable air-conditioned office and went out to learn about the challenges of delivery boys and to gain insights into the online buyer's psyche.

In a first, the corporate honcho went out in the sun and delivered goods to various customers.
His first delivery went very well. And Bansal said, the customer was happy too.
However, not everything was easy. Bansal had to wait for a while for his second customer to finish bathing before he could deliver the good.
But, Bansal sure had a good time.
He also posted selfies with his fellow delivery mates.
Bansal will in fact continue to deliver goods for the next couple of days.
"Over the next 15-20 days, everyone will go out and deliver to customers, starting with some of the leaders," Binny Bansal, cofounder of Flipkart, told Economic Times.
While the India's largest online marketplace has grown to become an eCommerce juggernaut valued at more than $15 billion, the gesture is also a reminder of Flipkart's early days in 2007, when the two Bansals scurried across Bengaluru on their scooters to deliver books.
  • Special Report: Gravity’s Century

GRAVITY'S CENTURY  Einstein's general theory of relativity, published in November 1915, describes gravity as the warping of spacetime by masses such as the Earth and moon.

In 1915, the universe was small and static. Space was smooth. Gravity pulled things to the ground. At least that’s the way it was in the minds of all but one exceptional physicist — Albert Einstein.
After years of pondering the interplay of space, time, matter and gravity, Einstein produced, in a single month, an utter transformation of science’s conception of the cosmos: the general theory of relativity.
His special theory of relativity, introduced a decade earlier, had united space with time, and matter with energy. Soon thereafter he saw that a generalized version of relativity would merge spacetime and matter-energy to produce gravity. Rather than “pulling” each other together, masses warped the fabric of spacetime — and then moved through spacetime along the curves that such warping produced.
Einstein’s space-bending theory was mind-bending. It not only succeeded in explaining gravitational mysteries where Newton’s law failed, but it also predicted amazing unsuspected natural phenomena, from black holes to the expansion of the universe itself. No longer small and static, Einstein’s universe is expansive and dynamic, home to a zoo of bizarre astrophysical beasts inexplicable without general relativity’s help.
Today astrophysicists manipulate those phenomena to probe the heavens, while other physicists seek ways to reconcile general relativity with the past century’s other revolutionary theory, quantum mechanics. It may now be that general relativity’s confluence with quantum mechanics is on the verge of producing a new theory, glimpsing more deeply into the essence of existence than even Einstein was able to see. But it wouldn’t have been possible without him.
“Even if some modified version of general relativity must be adopted ultimately to accommodate new observations,” writes physicist Clifford Will, Einstein’s theory “will very likely still be its foundation.”
