  • Moto G4 First Impressions: Specifications and first look

Moto G4 is finally out in India. This year, Motorola has introduced 2 versions of the Moto G, the regular Moto G4 and the higher end Moto G4 Plus, which has a 16 mp camera and a fingerprint scanner. Both phones are Amazon exclusive.
Moto G4 Plus starts at Rs 13,499 for the 16GB model and goes all the way to Rs 14,999 for the 32GB model. Moto G4, on the other hand comes only in the 16GB model at Rs 12,499. The memory in both the smartphones is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.
Must watch Moto G4 first look video:

Moto G4 is the new budget-friendly option from Motorola, and here’s our first impressions of the smartphone.
    Design and Display
If you look at Moto G4, it borrows a few design elements from its predecessor –Moto G3. However, the screen size is now bigger at 5.5-inches, and Moto G4 comes with a full HD display.
Moto G4 is ergonomically designed and the back cover gives it a good grip. This one has rounded corners and a silver metal frame running along the edges. The overall design looks clean, and minimal. In fact, Moto G4 looks a shade better than Moto G4 Plus as it does not have that weird square fingerprint scanner on the front.

The display in Moto G4 is crisp and the icons looks sharp. The display looks even bigger, thanks to thin bezels at the sides. It makes for great viewing angles even in bright sunlight.
    Processor, Battery and Memory
Motorola has bumped up the processor in Moto G4 to an octa-core Snapdragon 617 processor, and the phone sure handles multi-tasking well. Playing games on Moto G4 or watching videos and switching between tabs isn’t quite a problem so far.
Moto G4 has 2GB RAM on-board and comes only in 16GB storage option. While the memory shouldn’t be a problem for most of the basic needs, there’s also an option to expand it to 128GB via microSD card.

Moto G4 is a dual SIM smartphone and doesn’t come with a hybrid SIM slot, which is good. So, there are different slots for the two SIM cards and a microSD card. The review unit that we got already had a nano-to-micro SIM converter; a small detail but it’s nice to see Motorola take care of these things.
Moto G4 packs a 3,000mAh battery with support for Turbo Charging. Moto is promising six hours of battery life with just 15 minutes of charging. I haven’t been able to use the smartphone extensively yet to reach to a verdict on its battery, but it should easily last for a day on a moderate usage.
    Camera
The rear camera in Moto G4 is 13MP, and that on the front is 5MP. The back camera does a pretty good job, given the price point. The accurate colour reproduction and its ability to capture decent images in low light settings is quite impressive.
The bigger issue, however that I have with the camera is its inability to focus quickly. It gets even more difficult to focus on an object in low light. More on this once I’ve spent some more time with the camera.
    OS
Moto G4 runs stock Android OS, which is a refreshing change for me. This comes with Android Marshmallow with features like Permissions, etc.   I enabled gestures like ‘chop twice’ for flashlight and ‘twist wrist twice’ to open the camera from the Moto app. And they’ve proved to be quite handy.
    Wrap Up
Moto G4 is a decent mid-range smartphone, and features an ergonomic design. I haven’t faced any major issue with the phone so far. But, it faces tough competition from other smartphones in the price range like Redmi Note 3, Le 2 and yes the Moto G4 Plus, which has a much better rear camera.
For prospective Moto G buyers, the question really is: G4 or G4 Plus? If budget is really tight, the former is an option, but the Plus offers a superior camera rarely seen at this price point.
  • Moto G4 Plus : Pros and Cons

It's been almost a week since we are testing Moto G4 Plus, we have now compiled all the pros and cons of Moto G4 plus and in this post we are going to share that with you. So, if you still are planning to buy this device, this one is specially for you.

    Moto G 4 Plus : Specification Overview
    The Good Things

    Camera
One of the best things about new Moto G is its camera, it feature 16 MP rear camera with optical image stabilizer and phase detection, laser autofocus and dual-LED (dual tone) flash, while for selfies it is having 5MP wide angle front facing camera with f/2.2 and auto-HDR support. Picture taken by Moto G 4 Plus are of amazing quality and can be declared as best in class.

Moto G4 Plus : Sample Shot
    Moto G 4 plus : Sample Shot
    Moto G 4 plus : Sample Shot
Moto G 4th gen plus's 16-megapixel sensor is larger than both the Samsung Galaxy S7 and iPhone 6S. It also gets a new laser autofocus system to quickly snap nearby objects in low light. There are two camera modes - normal and professional, professional gives you manual control of various settings, including ISO, aperture and white balance. As for video there is regular Full HD video shot at 30 frames per second, plus a slow motion feature which shoots at 120 frames per second, but at a curious resolution of just 500p.

Moto G4  plus : Professional Mode

    Fast battery charging
New Moto G features non-removable 3000 mAh of a Battery, key highlight for the battery here is the Turbo Power charger which took less than 20 minutes to charge the phone from 10% to full. Full charge lasted for entire day and a half with moderate use, including internet browsing and video streaming

    Moto G 4 Plus : Turbocharger
    Value for Money
For 14,999 Moto G 4 plus is great deal to grab on, it comes with 4GB of RAM, Snapdragon 617 and 64GB of internal storage which can be expended further upto 128GB. At this price with Moto branding, you can not expect anything more.

    Moto G 4 : Key Features
    The Bad Things

    Heating issue
Moto G 4 plus have a terrible heating issue, with half hour of extensive gaming or camera uses you start to feel heat coming out of device. Although 617 is already infamous for having heating issues. But for mild to normal uses, you don't feel any major heating issue.

    Moto G 4 plus : Device
    Screen Size
Moto G 4 plus comes with 5.5" of   Full HD display although it is  vibrant and sharp, with ample brightness for most situations, it was likely lifted from last year's Moto X Play, with which the G4 Plus shares more than a few internals. Considering the same screen also graces the cheaper and more widely-available Moto G4, this is something to be celebrated.

Moto G 4 plus : Over sized Screen
But 5.5" screen is not that easy to operate with single hand, most of our team members feels little uncomfortable while using this device initially, but as time progressed, we become used to it.

    Built Quality
As compared with other devices, the built quality of Moto G4 plus is not great, it is loose and feels kind of cheep. The volume and power buttons, situated at right side, gives you hard time while using this handset.

Moto G4 plus : Average Built Quality
At last all we can say that, at price tag of 14,999 (or 13,499) Moto g 4 Plus is great device if you are looking for branded 15K smartphone, it have decent looks, average built quality and certainly best in class rear camera. As compared with other smartphones of Samsung, LG and SONY , Moto G4 plus is highly recommended from our side.

  • Moto G (3rd gen) Vs Moto G (4th Gen)

The Moto G3 have been our all-time favourite budget smartphone over the past few years. But now it is time to switch over. Moto has introduced the successor Moto G4 which is no less than the other higher end flagship devices. Let us take a closer look at how these two devices differ from each other.
Moto G3 is launched in July 2015, Moto G4 is launched in May 2016.

    Moto G3
    Moto G4

    Design & Specifications
Moto G3 features 5 inches 720x1280 pixels HD screen with 294 PPI while Moto G4 features 5.5 inches 1080x1920 pixels display with 497 PPI, but still both the devices weighs same 155g . Both the models come with corning Gorilla Glass 3 with Multitouch feature.

    Moto G3

Moto G3 and G4 supports Dual sim (Micro sim slot), and same camera specifications like 13 MP rear camera f/2.0, autofocus with flash and 5MP Front camera with auto-HDR. Both the model comes in two colour variants of Black and White.
    Moto G4

More or less both the device features similar designs. The previous model featured a bigger rear camera which extended up to the Motorola logo. The new model gives space to the logo and camera. Further, Moto G4 looks more refined due to the new glass look.
    Processor
The Moto G3 is powered by 1.4GHz Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor and it comes with 1GB of RAM while Moto G4 is powered by 1.5GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor and it comes with 2GB of RAM.

    Software
Moto G3 runs Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) which is upgradable to v6.0 and is powered by a 2470mAh non-removable battery and Moto G4 runs Android 6.0.1(Marshmallow) and is powered by a 3000mAh non-removable battery will support Motorola's TurboPower technology which means with the Motorola’s charger you’ll be able to get 6 hours of power in just 15 minutes.

    Storage
MotoG3 comes with two variants, one is 8GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB with 1GB RAM through microSD card and 16GB internal storage with 2GB RAM and for Moto G4 it has 16GB/32GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB through microSD card.

    Resistance
Moto G3 was both water and dust resistant. The water resistance potential of the model is up to 30 minutes in 3 ft water. On the other hand, Moto G4 comes with a water repellent nano-coating, which promises to protect the handset from splashes of water. This suggests that if the phone is accidentally dropped in water, then the phone might be damaged.

    Price
The official price is yet to be announced for Moto G4 which is likely to be 13000INR (Not sure, it may change), while the Moto G3 is priced at 10000INR.

Moto G4 might be a better option compared to Moto G3 in terms of memory storage and screen size. Moto G4 is just Another solid, safe and affordable handset from Motorola so it isn’t going to let you down if you give it a try.
  • Android O Accidental Leak By Motorola

Last week, Motorola launched its much awaited duo of budget smartphones, the Moto G4 and the Moto G4 Plus . After launch event company has put some information on its webpage about Android O, which has now has been taken down.

Moto G4 is Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow-based handsets feature almost the same set of specifications, with some minor changes.

The Moto G4 Plus is available at price of Rs 13,499 for the 16GB in-built storage+2GB RAM version, while the 32GB in-built storage+3GB RAM variant has been priced at 14,999. The company did not reveal the price of the Moto G4 at the launch event, but said that it will be available in June.

Soon after the launch, the official website went live for millions of web users. The company in one of its webpage has written Moto G4 will be running the upcoming Android N but will also be eligible for Android O.

We know very well that yet Google hasn't provided complete details regarding Android N so search giant is far from even confirming any details about existence of Android O. Although Motorola accidentally not only revel about existence of Android O but has also confirmed work is already going on it.

Both Google and Motorola might not reveal anything about the next version of the Android OS until next year, provided Google is still asking users to vote for their favourite Android OS names starting with 'N'. However, it is likely that Nexus and Motorola Moto G4 users might be among the first to receive Android O whenever Google plans to roll it out.

  • Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus coming out on May 17, Here is How It Looks

Moto G 4 will be launched on 17th this month and will be exclusively available on Amazon. Why did they ditch Flipkart, no one knows.. may be because Flipkart is too busy with LeEco and Moto wants special attention for fourth gen. of Moto G.

    Moto G 4th Gen
Earlier today a tweet from Motorola confirmed that Moto will reveal Moto G 4 gen and Moto G 4 + on 17th may. Moto G 4 + will be premium variant of Moto G4 and will have better processor, camera and also include Fingerprint Scanner.
Amit Boni, Country Head, Motorola Mobility India in press statement confirmed the next Motorola smartphone's will be avaliable via Amazon India, he added  "We have witnessed tremendous growth in the e-commerce market and it will continue to be the dominating channel for us as we bring new products to the India market. Amazon.in is the one of the best online marketplaces in India and we are glad to announce that we have exclusively partnered with Amazon India for our next Motorola smartphone."
Moto G (Gen 4) and the Moto G4 Plus have tons of leaks recently via videos and images, but none of the information has been confirmed by the company. Moto G 4 might  to feature a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) resolution display, an octa-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB of inbuilt storage, and a 13-megapixel rear camera. The Moto G4 Plus is rumoured to sport a fingerprint sensor, and a 16-megapixel rear camera.

The Moto G4 has allegedly been spotted on a Geekbench benchmark listing, pointing to several specifications of the smartphone. The listing reveals the smartphone runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor (presumably the Snapdragon 615 or Snapdragon 617, based on the MSM8952 chipset) coupled with 3GB of RAM - which contradicts an earlier proof.

The Moto G (4th gen.) specs listed include 5.5-inch display, 16 GB ROM, 13 MP camera and 240 Euro price tag, while the “Moto G Plus” specs include the same sized screen and internal storage but a larger 16 MP camera and 280 Euro price tag. How ever as per Gadget 360 :
The smartphone is expected to feature a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) resolution display, an octa-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB of inbuilt storage, and a 13-megapixel rear camera. The Moto G4 Plus is rumoured to sport a fingerprint sensor, and a 16-megapixel rear camera.

      Moto  G plus : Specification

Without further specs to go on its hard to say to what degree the Moto G Plus (or Moto G4 Plus) might be a more premium version of the standard Moto G4, but at least it reveals the possibility of the Plus referring to better specs rather than a larger size.

Motorola seems to be alluding to a stronger processor than ever before running the hardware show this year to remove system lag, which is likely a Snapdragon 650. Last but not least, you’re promised “better security” to help hide your compromising browser history, making us hope for something beyond Marshmallow’s stock goodies in terms of data privacy and whatnot.

    • 17 MAY 2017: Moto G(4th gen) Might comes to India

Motorola is expected to launch the next-gen Moto G handset in India on May 17. The company has started sending out media invites for the event scheduled for the same. While the invite doesn't clearly mention as to what the company has up its sleeves for the event, we expect it to be the 4th generation Moto G.

There are basically two reasons for us to presume that the Moto G (4th generation) is the product Motorola will be unveiling on May 17.

First, the date on the invite is in line with what Motorola India head Amit Boni had told us about the company's Moto G plans during the Moto X Force event in February this year. While Boni had not given us an exact date for the Moto G India launch, he had mentioned that it would be sometime in May-June.

When asked him about the features the new phone could come with, he said, "It could have a fingerprint sensor."

Second, it's been close to a year since the last-gen Moto G came out, and therefore, it adds more weight to our assumption.

It seems that quite like the Moto G (3rd generation) launch last year, the Moto G (4th generation) will make a global debut in India - before it is announced in other countries.

Speculations are rife that the company would launch the next-gen Moto G in two variants - a standard version and a Plus version. If rumours are to be believed, the Plus version will be the one to include a fingerprint sensor.

Renowned tipster Evan Blass last week tweeted a render of an alleged Moto G4 Plus.

    • Moto G4 Release Date : New Moto Device on June 9

The upcoming fourth generation of Motorola's Moto G smartphone has been leaking a lot lately, which could mean it's getting ever closer to being officially introduced.

It turns out that may actually be the case. At the launch of the ZUK Z2 Pro today, Lenovo CEO Yang Yuanqing said Motorola will be outing a new and exciting device on June 9.

      Moto G 4 : Leaked Photo
Unfortunately he didn't go into more detail, but given the increasing number of leaks about the Moto G4, we assume it can only be this model that will be announced. That said, do keep in mind that we might see two G-branded models this year - a vanilla, smaller G4, as well as a bigger Moto G4 Plus with a fingerprint scanner embedded in a physical Home button located underneath the screen.

Spec-wise nothing has transpired yet, but if the new Moto G does get official in early June then we expect some prototypes to be spotted in certain benchmark databases pretty soon.

Do tell us what are your expectation from this device in comment section below, keep reading
    • Moto G 4th Gen Video Appears, Watch it now

Those Moto G4 leaks just keep on coming, but this time they’ve stepped things up a notch. A new video has appeared on YouTube, showing a fully functioning Moto G 4th generation prototype in the flesh. The video shows most of the features we’ve seen in previous leaks, although this unit has on-screen buttons without a physical home button.

Moto G 4th Gen : Leaked Video Snapshot

We get a good look at the camera bump on the back and the minor degree to which the device wobbles on a flat surface. There’s a power button and volume rocker on the right hand edge and a centered USB charging port on the bottom, although we can’t really tell if it’s USB Type-C or not. It appears the only speaker is the in-call speaker at the top of the display and at 0:27 we can see the “lip” that allows the back cover to be easily removed.

We get a look at Active Display on the device, as well as the stock-looking home screen. We also get a bit of a look at the “mystery hole” on the front face of the chin below the screen (with another on the back near the camera). It certainly doesn’t look as invisible as most LED notifications lights, so it may well turn out to be a pinhole mic after all, or something else entirely.

The most interesting detail though is the absence of a physical home button. Previous leaks have shown a physical home button that presumably also houses a fingerprint scanner, although several commenters have noted some of these images look Photoshopped. Whether this is the case or it will only be the Moto G4 Plus that gets a fingerprint scanner, we’ll have to wait and see.

    • Moto G 4th gen (Moto G 4th gen plus) : Leaked Specification

Last week we saw first look of what is supposed to be next moto device. Now the specs have emerged of Moto G 4 and Moto G 4 Plus, the first Lenovo-branded Moto devices to appear this year and everyone is excited for what Lenovo can get out of Motorola.

      Mystery Moto : Spotted
      last week
Here is disclaimer, none of the information come from official sources, but they are from reliable and respected medium, they do are heavily reliable.

A commenter on Blass’ tweet “confirmed” the name and stated it is being tested at Chicago’s Merchandise Mart, later tweeting “for the Moto G4 Plus I can only go on what I see. And it was pretty darn nice.
      Blass’ tweet

Expect a nice looking evolution in Motorola’s design language.” Another commenter reposted the image at the top of this article which appeared a few weeks back and also features a similarly-shaped physical home button.

Sources from Leveno have already conformed that Moto G4 will feature fingerprint scanner, the “Plus” is being assumed to refer to a larger-screened variant of a smaller original.

Moto G 4th generation and Moto G 4th Gen Plus

The Moto G (4th gen.) specs listed include 5.5-inch display, 16 GB ROM, 13 MP camera and 240 Euro price tag, while the “Moto G Plus” specs include the same sized screen and internal storage but a larger 16 MP camera and 280 Euro price tag.

      Moto  G plus : Specification

Without further specs to go on its hard to say to what degree the Moto G Plus (or Moto G4 Plus) might be a more premium version of the standard Moto G4, but at least it reveals the possibility of the Plus referring to better specs rather than a larger size.
