World's cheapest smartphone, Namotel Achhe Din,  of Rs99 is promoted by its promoter Madhava Reddy at a press conference in Bengaluru on Tuesday.

It is a 3G enabled smartphone with original price of Rs. 2,999. Its bookings will start from May 17till May 25 at its special launch price. However, the exact booking process is not yet known. You need to sign up for a service called BeMyBanker to proceed with the booking, and also to provide details about your Aadhaar and your photograph, but BeMyBanker's website is not loading at present.  

 

It is available on a cash-on-delivery basis with nominal delivery charges. The company's website adds, "This model is limited and it is applicable only for India and who holds Aadhar Identity." The number of units available has not been announced, or precise delivery dates.


The company website lists four other smartphones as well, ranging from Rs. 1,999 for the 4G LTE-enabled Aazadi to Rs. 1,99,999 for the VVIP luxury smartphone.


Smartphone shown alongside the Namotel Achhe Din listing on the company website says, "Pictures shown in the website is for illustration purposes only," casting some doubt on the credibility of the company and product.

Not much is known about Namotel at this point, and it appears to be a Bengaluru-headquartered startup that began operations in 2016.


The smartphone segment saw a buzz in February when Ringing Bells launched its Freedom 251 smartphone at just Rs. 251. The smartphone made headlines for a few weeks, and caught attention of the entire world. Freedom 251 from Noida-based startup Ringing Bells however soon lost its sheen.

The largest Indian mobile manufacturer, Micromax whose products were made available only on e-commerce portals in India, has announced the latest addition to its Canvas Spark series, smartphone which is affordable for all income segments people. The Canvas Spark 2 Plus is the first smartphone from the Micromax to run Marshmallow out of the box, and it's available for just ₹3,999.

With Canvas Spark 1, Canvas Spark 2, and Canvas Spark 3 Micromax has sold more than 1.5 million units, over the last 12 months. Today's offering is the company's most affordable device in the lineup thus far, and is aimed at first time smartphone users.

Commenting on the new launch, Shubhajit Sen, Chief Marketing Officer, Micromax, said:

The phone comes with a 5.00-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 pixels by 854 pixels.

Device is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core processor. It comes with 1GB of RAM. The phone has 8GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card. The Micromax Canvas Spark 2 Plus packs a 5-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel front shooter for selfies. 

The Micromax Canvas Spark 2 Plus runs Android 6.0 and is powered by a 2000mAh removable battery. 

The Micromax Canvas Spark 2 Plus is a dual SIM (GSM and GSM) smartphone that accepts two Regular SIMs. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, FM. Sensors on the phone include Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor, Accelerometer, and Gyroscope. 

Spark 2 Plus is available in three color variants — metallic grey, copper grey, and champagne gold. It will go on sale on Snapdeal starting tomorrow, April 22. 

CREO, a Bangalore based Consumer Technology Company, unveiled its Android based Operating System- FUEL OS and smartphone- MARK 1. Fuel OS is proprietary product of CREO.  Mark 1 uses Fuel OS as its operating system. The CREO Mark 1 devices will be available soon on the company’s official website (www.creosense.com) and on Flipkart for purchase at Rs. 19,999.

Chinese smartphone maker Lenovo has launched Phab, smartphone and tablet hybrid in India. Company had announced the device last year in September at IFA. The phablet is the lite variant of the Phab Plus smartphone that was launched in India in October last year at Rs. 20,990. The Lenovo Phab comes with a price tag of Rs 11,999 and it will be available only on Flipkart.

Phab is dual-SIM (Micro-SIM + Micro-SIM). It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system topped with the Vibe UI of the company. It features a 6.98-inch HD (720x1280 pixel) IPS display with 1280x720 pixels resolution.

It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2GHz. The phablet has 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage which can be expanded further using a microSD card(upto 64 GB).

Onboard sensors include an accelerometer, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, and digital compass.

It is equipped with Dolby Atmos audio technology, 3 microphones and dedicated voice processor support. The device bears a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies. 

The connectivity options of the device include 4G, LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi  802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, FM radio, and Micro-USB connectivity.  It houses a massive 4,250 mAh battery rated to deliver up to 24 hours of talk time, and up to 20 days of standby time. 

The Phab weighs 250 grams, and measures 186x97x8.9mm. Currently the smartphone has only been launched in its Tuxedo Black colour variant, though it was launched internationally with Polar White, Aqua Blue, and Cherry Red colour variants as well.

Zopo Hero 1 has a medium size 5 inches HD IPS LCD with five point multi touch option with the screen resolution of 1280×720 Pixels and pixel density of 293 ppi .  It is powered by 64 bit 1.3 GHz Quad Core Cortex A53 processor on MediaTek MT6735 chipest coupled with 2 GB RAM and Mali-T720 MP1 (600MHz) GPU . Device is running on Android v5.1 (Lollipop) operating system

Zopo Hero 1 sports a powerful 13.2 Megapixel main camera with OV13850 sensor ,and LED flash light that can record full HD 1080p video @30fps . It also has a 5 MP front camera for clicking selfie with 720p video recording option . Hero 1 offers 16 GB of massive storage that has expend ability option of 64  GB using the microSD card slot .

Connectivity

At the connectivity end device is dual sim phone having micro SIM card slot  support 4G (LTE) connectivity for high speed internet access but unfortunately it will not support Indian LTE network (Band 40 (2300) . It has other features like wi-fi 802.11 a/b/g/n , Bluetooth:4.0 and GPS with GLONASS .

Battery

Zopo Hero 1 is beautifully backed by a slim but average is power 2500 mAh capacity and removable Lithium Polymer battery with stand by option of 250 hours and 18 hours talk time . Measure of the deivice is 146.1mm x 70.6mm x 8.65mm and weight of device is 136 grams .

Price

Device is launched at a price of Rs . 12990 in Indian smartphone market and available in white/black color option . It is now listed om eCommerce site Flipkart and other shopping site to buy .
