  • ONEPLUS INTRODUCES THE ONEPLUS 3 – IT’S ABOUT TIME

ONEPLUS  INTRODUCES THE ONEPLUS 3 – IT’S ABOUT TIME

Dash Charge Technology, Industry-leading 6 GB RAM, Aluminum Unibody Design Bring a Better Mobile Experience

NEW DELHI – June 14, 2016 – OnePlus, a global mobile technology startup, today released the OnePlus 3, its long-awaited flagship smartphone. Combining the best in technology, design and innovation, this premium device further solidifies OnePlus’ mission to build a better smartphone experience.

The OnePlus 3 offers top-of-the-line performance and inspired design, while keeping the customer at the center. The new phone features Dash Charge fast charging technology, which adds a day of power in only half an hour. It comes with completely unlocked bootloader to give users maximum flexibility. It is also the first OnePlus smartphone to be available for purchase at launch on Amazon.in, OnePlus’ exclusive online partner in India, without an invite from day one.

“We know that the best smartphone is the one that works exactly how you want it to,” said OnePlus Founder and CEO Pete Lau. “The OnePlus 3 delivers that experience. It combines what our customers already love about our products with what they want and expect next. For example, Dash Charge sets a new standard for fast charging technology. It’s a flagship smartphone inspired by – and made for – our fans.”

Vikas Agarwal, General Manager at OnePlus India added, “India has always been a special market for us and we are thrilled to launch the OnePlus 3 for our Indian users simultaneously with the rest of the world. We are confident the phone will bode well with the expectations of the Indian fans, who will now have an easier time experiencing the OnePlus 3 since we have gone ‘invite free’. We are also introducing a line up of attractive accessories and exclusive partner offers to make the user experience even more enriching.”

Dash Charge – A Day’s Power in Half an Hour
The OnePlus 3 utilizes Dash Charge technology, a faster, cooler and safer way to charge a smartphone. Unlike other quick charging technologies, Dash Charge replenishes more than 60% of the 3,000 mAh battery in 30 minutes and continues fast charging even when streaming video or playing energy-intensive games. This is made possible by leveraging a large electric current for stable, consistent charging speeds. In addition, Dash Charge carries more current than other charging solutions, and at lower temperatures, by shifting the power management process from the phone itself to the Dash Charge adapter, so a vast majority of the heat generated while charging never reaches the device. Along with five custom safety measures in place to safeguard the adaptor, cable and phone itself, users can charge their OnePlus 3 as fast as possible without worry.

Smart Capture High-quality Photos and Easy Selfies
The 16 MP rear camera on the OnePlus 3 provides better imaging with incredible detail and clarity. OnePlus’ exclusive suite of imaging technologies, Smart Capture, allows users to effortlessly capture the ideal shot in any environment. Smart Capture functionalities include HD Mode, Auto HDR and Dynamic De-noise, which compares several frames of the same photo and blends them together in post-processing to reduce noise. The OnePlus 3 also includes our new Smile Capture feature, allowing you to take a photo using the front-facing 8 MP camera simply by smiling – a seamless solution for selfies.

Dual-stabilization technologies – Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) – help reduce blur, ensuring photos come out as planned. For the most discerning photography enthusiast, the robust manual mode offers the benefits of a DSLR, including support of RAW image files, in one lightweight device.

Premium Design – Elegantly Curved Aluminum Unibody
The design of the OnePlus 3 takes aesthetics, quality and usability to a new level. The all-metal unibody, carved from a single slab of space-grade aluminum alloy, makes for a seamless, resilient build, while the balance of soft curves against sharp lines creates a striking impression and comfortable grip. At 7.3 mm, the OnePlus 3 is one of the thinnest flagships ever. The stunning 5.5-inch 1080p Optic AMOLED display with one of the world’s thinnest bezels produces colors that are more vivid and true-to-life than ever before even in bright sunlight, thanks to a dual-polarizing layer.

Available in two color variants – Graphite and Soft Gold – the OnePlus 3 is an inspiring device to hold.

    Fast, Powerful, Customizable
The OnePlus 3 is designed to deliver maximum performance. Packing the new quad-core Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 820 processor (up to 2.2 GHz), the OnePlus 3 performs tasks 35% faster than the OnePlus 2 and features a 40% boost in graphical power – all at a fraction of the power consumption.

The device also sets a new standard in smartphone memory. The OnePlus 3 boasts 6 GB of LPDDR4 RAM, allowing for next-level multitasking without delay or lag and ensuring it can handle the most demanding apps. The OnePlus 3 also features an improved, more durable ceramic fingerprint sensor that improves accuracy with increased use. Offering the ability to unlock the device in under 0.3 seconds, even from a sleeping screen, users can access their phone faster and more accurately.

OnePlus’ custom operating system, OxygenOS, offers a fast, clean, customizable and bloat-free operating system based on Android Marshmallow. With off-screen gestures and customizable capacitive hardware and software buttons built in, the OnePlus 3 allows customers to personalize their smartphone experience.

The OnePlus 3 comes with dual nano SIM card support, allowing users to connect to different networks with ease. Our Indian fans will get complimentary subscription of 12 months of ad-free Saavn Pro. In addition to that, through OnePlus’ partnership with Idea Cellular our Indian fans will be able to enjoy ‘double data’ for 12 months. A third exciting offer awaits OnePlus fans wherein they will be able to avail 12 months of accidental damage coverage through the ‘OnePlus Care app’ powered by Servify.

OnePlus’ partners have come forth in wishing the OnePlus 3 success:

“Amazon.in has become the marketplace of choice for millions of customers who want to explore and buy a range of mobile devices across marquee brands. We are very happy to offer our customers across India an exclusive access to the new OnePlus 3 and provide them with a delightful shopping experience,” said Noor Patel, Director Category Management, Amazon India

“We are very excited to collaborate with OnePlus on their latest flagship device, the OnePlus 3, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor,” said Sunil Lalvani, Vice President and President, Qualcomm India. “The OnePlus 3 takes advantage of the heterogeneous computing capabilities that are inherent to Snapdragon 820, providing an all-around outstanding experience for users.”

Elaborating on partnering with OnePlus, Mahesh Narayanan, Global COO, Saavn, added, "This strategic partnership between OnePlus and Saavn offers an integrated experience that combines the best technology, music and original audio content for OnePlus 3 and Saavn Pro users in India. The OnePlus 3 is a beautifully-designed, premium smartphone that makes a perfect pair with Saavn Pro's ad-free, high-quality streaming experience. There is a large overlap between OnePlus users and Saavn listeners, and this association will help us engage with that audience in a meaningful way."

    Pricing & Availability
The Graphite variant of the OnePlus 3 will be available exclusively on Amazon.in, 12:30am onwards starting June 15 for INR 27,999/- whereas the Soft Gold variant will be launched in the near future. Additionally, fans can see for themselves how the OnePlus 3 is creating a better smartphone experience by visiting one of three pop-up stores located at The Collective @ New Delhi (June 15), The Collective @ Mumbai (June 17) and Indelust @ Bangalore (June 18).

  • LeEco sells 10 Million smartphones within a year

LeEco, the Chinese smartphone brand, has grossed sale of over 10 million units in its home country of China. The total sales have been achieved in a space of one year, between May 19, 2015 and May 25, 2016.

LeEco's push for increasing its sales include presenting an entire ecosystem of content alongside presenting devices. The company has recently introduced its 'Supertainment' package in India, presenting bundled exclusive content to its buyers along with its devices.

LeEco, the global internet and ecosystem conglomerate has announced that, from May 19 last year to present, LeEco Superphones have accumulated sales of over 10 million units in China, setting a record for the fastest smartphone brand in the industry to hit the 10-million landmark.

During the company’s one-year anniversary ceremony release celebration of the Superphone, Mr. Feng Xing, Senior Vice President of LeMobile stated that “This is an important milestone for the direction of the mobile industry, it represents the shift from the smartphone era into the ecosystem phone era.”

Since entering the industry a year ago, sales of LeEco’s Superphones continued to break records at every step, hitting the 4 million mark in a mere eight months, and the 5 million mark in January, which made it the fastest brand to achieve that. With the advent of second generation Superphones, the total sales number has crossed 10 million.

With a commitment to providing optimal experience at the most disruptive prices, LeEco termed the new industry concept as a powerful and comprehensive ‘ecosystem phone’, where rather than hardware, offers of high-quality content sits at the core.

The second generation of Superphones are the world’s first to have innovatively replaced 3.5mm earphone jack with USB Type-C port backed by Continual Digital Lossless Audio (CDLA) standard. LeEco also released its latest EUI 5.8 OS which achieves historically nine-camera live video streaming, representing a giant step forward from the 3-camera live video streaming.

Mr. Feng added that “the ecosystem phone model is re-directing the mobile industry, and LeEco is leading the ecosystem revolution in the industry”.

Besides China, LeEco has seen record-breaking sales in India as well. With the release of the Le 1s and Le Max earlier this year, followed by the launch of the first “Made for India” Le 1s Eco in early May with tailor-made Supertainment membership program including more than 2,000 movies, 100 TV channels and 3.5 million songs in 10 languages, LeEco Superphones have sold a jaw-dropping 500,000 units within just 100 days, once again proving the success of the company’s highly-replicable business model globally.

  • FUTURE SOLAR PANEL TO GENERATE ENERGY FROM RAINDROPS

A new solar cell prototype developed by scientists in Qingdao, China may change the way we use solar panels in the not so distant future.

When Solar Panels were introduced in the previous decade, many scientists and even people asked a very genuine question. Will it work under non-ideal weather conditions ? The answer was simple. No. While many scientists have tried to increase the efficiency there's nothing you can do when its raining or even when there's a cloudy sky.
But mankind is always curious and tries to solve any problem it has faced in the past. The solution came when a group of Chinese scientists found a way to generate electricity from raindrops. The method they used is called Lewis Acid-Base interaction.

The technology is still in testing stage and could well be commercialized for public use in the near future.

Shoppers in China can now use contact-less payment system Apple Pay to make purchases after US tech giant Apple and Chinese bank card association UnionPay launched the service on Thursday. Users of the iPhone 6, iPads and Apple Watches will be able to use these devices, equipped with near field communication (NFC) technology.

The world’s second-largest economy is a crucial market for the Apple Inc. Apple said "Apple Pay" could be used by 19 banks, "numerous merchants" and app developers. Apple's electronic payment system started in the United States in October 2014 and has since spread to Britain, Canada and Australia. Apple Pay is accepted by the merchants include supermarket Carrefour, fast food outlets McDonald's and KFC, and convenience store 7-Eleven and 1700 restaurant too.
The market is dominated by Alipay, an arm of the e-commerce giant Alibaba Group. WeChat Payment, operated by social networking and gaming company Tencent Holdings Ltd, is also popular.
  • Researchers claims to Developed Hakers Proof RFID Chip

Credit cards and passports are filled with microchips brimming with your personal information—and give off radio waves to any nearby sleazebag that wants to steal your identity. A new generation of those chips stands to stop hackers in their tracks.

MIT and Texas instruments teamed up to develop new RFID chips that block identity theft. MIT just announced that the new chip is “virtually impossible to hack,” a bold claim and possibly a challenge to would be hackers. Regardless, your anxious tinfoil hat types will certainly love the hack-proof promise.

RFID chips that track items from a far aren’t going away anytime soon, so it’s inevitably good that somebody is making them more secure. You’ll can already find these chips on anything from clothes on the sales rack to boxes of DVDs. And since 2007, these chips have been built into US passports for tracking and counterfeit protection. They’re now showing up in credit cards to allow swipe-free payment. But lately, there’s been a lot of concern that crooks with RFID readers could easily steal information like your name, gender, nationality, and more—without laying a finger on your wallet. It’s what’s prompting the sale of RFID-blocking wallets or passport covers.

What this new chip does is guard against “power glitch attacks” which cut password-protected gadgets’ power and allows unlimited password attempts. This grants the hacker thousands of tries to squeeze out the device’s secrets. But the new chip comes with an on-board power, something normal RFID chips lack. That makes the chip’s power “virtually impossible to cut,” the press release says.

Which is good! Again, RFID chips aren’t going anywhere. The technology is even making its way into driver’s licenses, which the ACLU decries as “civil liberties nightmare.” While RFID proponents argue that the risk of a crook using a reader to swipe wirelessly transmitted information is low, we’re not gonna complain over extra safeguards.

Researchers including Anantha Chandrakasan from MIT and scientists from Texas Instruments designed two innovations that allow the chip to thwart power-glitch attacks – one is an on-chip power supply whose connection to the chip circuitry would be virtually impossible to cut, and the other is a set of nonvolatile memory cells that can store whatever data the chip is working on when it begins to lose power.

For both of these features, researchers used a special type of material known as a ferroelectric crystals. As a crystal, a ferroelectric material consists of molecules arranged into a regular three-dimensional lattice. In every cell of the lattice, positive and negative charges naturally separate, producing electrical polarisation. The application of an electric field, however, can align the cells polarisation in either of two directions, which can represent the two possible values of a bit of information. When the electric field is removed, the cells maintain their polarisation.

If such chips were widely adopted, it could mean that an identity thief could not steal credit card numbers or key card information, and high-tech burglars could not swipe expensive goods from a warehouse and replace them with dummy tags.
