According to a study by a global research firm, TNS, 51% of internet users in India use Facebook, while 56% use WhatsApp. The study was conducted on 60,500 internet users across 50 countrie.
India's Facebook usage, however, is far lower compared to some countries in APAC markets like Thailand (78%), Taiwan (75%), Hong Kong (72%.)
Interestingly, India is the second largest base with over 125 million users for Facebook that has 1.49 billion users globally. The US has the highest number of Facebook users.
